How To FTP using Frontpage 2003

(For Frontpage 2002, please click here)

Before you try publishing your website via FTP, you need to make sure you open a FrontPage Web site first. If you don't have a FrontPage Web site open (that is, you just have an individual Web page open), FrontPage publishing features will not be available.

Note that Vooju does not support Frontpage extentions, so please turn it off before uploading via Tools -> Page Options -> Authoring tab-> Clear the "the Browse-time Web Components" check box.

  • Click "File" and "Open Site" to access your site.

  • Choose "File" -> "Publish Site".

  • Select "FTP" as the remote Web server.
  • Type in your domain name in the "Remote Web site location" field
    "ftp://[your_domain_name]" e.g. "ftp://abc.com.sg"
  • Type your domain name again in the "FTP directory"
[your_domain_name] e.g. "abc.com.sg". Note: Do NOT enter "www" in front.
The folder that you will upload files into happens to be named exactly as your domain name.
  • Select "Use Passive FTP"
  • Click "OK".
  • Enter your Vooju username and password.

  • The Local Web site is on the left side of the window. The Remote Web site is on the right. The remote site is the publishing destination for your files.
  • When you're ready, you can publish all files by clicking the Publish Web Site button in the lower-right corner of the window. Or, you can publish individual files. The way to do this is to select a file in the local site, and then click the Local to Remote button .

Note: Vooju does not support Frontpage extentions, so please turn it off before uploading via Tools -> Page Options -> Authoring tab-> Clear the "the Browse-time Web Components" check box.
